A Commemoration ceremony for the unique Bronx theme park, Freedomland USA, was held at its previous location on Saturday, August 17th, at 12:00 noon. The commemorative plaque, shown below, was placed near the park's ticket booth entrance, as may be seen in the 3rd photo below.

parks with which I have been associated, including the remarkable Walt
Disney World, none has left me with nostalgic recollections as vivid or
memorable as those of Freedomland USA. The magnificent park was a
sprawling and beautifully-themed entertainment complex that unabashedly
celebrated America, and her rich heritage. It is to that treasured
heritage, and especially to the courageous men and women who through the
years have continued to preserve it, that this page is happily and
